What’s counterintuitive is the client they use doesn’t matter, so even if they are using Teams, you receive in Skype. So by this rule if someone in another organisation sends you a message, and you are in islands, it’ll arrive in Skype. Federated messages from people outside your tenant will be received in the client that handles Skype messages. This brings me to the first ‘rule’ to remember.ġ. If you send a message from Skype it would end up in Skype, if you send a message from Teams it ends up in teams. In this mode there isn’t really any connection between Skype and Teams, they are two independent systems.
